Description

The Hillway Shoulder is a dynamic anatomical model with a "true-to-life" feel for simulated arthroscopic or open procedures. The multi-directional vice enables the shoulder to be positioned in any plane such as "lateral decubitus" or "beach chair" position. A new concept in Arthroscopy training.

Skills

The bones and capsule within the model may be separated in such a way that sacrificed components can be easily replaced
Procedures such as "removal of loose bodies", "repair of Bankart lesion" and "subacromial decompression" are all possible
The subscapularis tendon and middle glenohumeral ligament are "represented" within the capsule
Hillway Shoulder combines the skills of leading surgeons, a professional sculptor and a plastics molding expert
This is a highly valuable aid for rehearsing arthroscopic surgical maneuvres

Features

With the skin layer removed, this "right" shoulder model will be seen to include all the replacement parts
An acromial osteophyte can be demonstrated to impinge on the SupraspinatusSubacromial decompression may be performed and then a new "coraco-acromial ligament with osteophyte" can be fitted - to repeat the procedure.
Pathological conditions can be prepared by the user to enable
- Removal of loose bodies
- Repair of Bankart lesion
- Repair of tears in labrum or l.h.o. biceps tendon
With the shoulder model taken apart, the component parts are evident. This enables the user to discard any sacrificed items and easily replace them with replacement part
